What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

What I liked most about the Thrive Programme was it’s honesty and connection. And by that I mean how much the consultant was able to quickly understand my issues and help me work through them as we moved through the book. I also felt the book itself was very clear and I was able to really resonate with a lot of the information, particularly around my thinking styles. The exercises were simple but very effective.

Would you change anything?

No,

How has it improved your life?

Dramatically! I’m viewing the world in a completely different way and I’m now in a stage of graded exposure to all the situations that was generally be anxiety creating triggers. before thrive I was avoiding all of these situations at all costs.

Do you think it should be available on the NHS?

Yes it should be… This should be also be part of the school curriculum.

Are there any suggestions you can think of, to help Michelle improve her lessons?

I wouldn't change a thing… Michelle's style is spot on and for me personally I felt at ease from the very first session.

This programme has been life changing for me. I suffered from Social Anxiety for the best part of 15 years and tried everything over the years to overcome it. The anxiety at times got so bad at times that I locked myself away from people just to avoid interacting. Since completing the thrive programme and working on the exercises, the anxiety has subsided to a very normal and manageable level. I feel like a completely different person now. I would highly recommend doing the program with one of the consultants as for me this added a lot more punch and kept me accountable.

What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

I liked the fact it was written in simple, plain terms. I also liked that it all links together like a jigsaw puzzle. The things it teaches seem obvious but only once you know them.

How has working with Michelle improved your life?

I have reduced my IBS by about 80%, and I know this will continue, this is massive. I am now building the life I want to live and feel much more in control of my body. Thanks for everything Michelle.

What brought you to work with Michelle?

I had tried CBT, CAT, counselling and psychotherapy but nothing gave me the skills I needed to make positive lasting changes to my mental and physical health. I now feel so much more in-control. I was sceptical at first but I’m so glad I stuck with it and did the work. Its very powerful when you learn what’s behind a lot of symptoms and that these can be changed.

Did going through Thrive with a consultant make a difference?

I’d like to say a huge thank you to Michelle. She worked with me every step of the way so that I could get the most out of the programme and be pushed a little bit further. Michelle is very easy to work with, she is non-judgmental and and down-to-earth and has a good sense of humour. I cannot recommend her enough, she really is very knowledgeable and I felt in safe hands. Thanks so much Michelle.

What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

I liked that so much was covered in the Thrive Programme and the pace was fast. The chapters were all relevant and the examples and studies were interesting to read. There was no padding it out, the programme got straight to the point. I liked how Michelle set me tasks to do each week that were tailored to the things I needed to improve.

Would you change anything?

No, I can’t think of anything.

How has it improved your life?

I was sceptical at first because 8 weeks is not a long time and I’d had my symptoms for years and no amount of talking therapy, medication or self-help books had alleviated them. Now I don’t feel weighed down by depression. I have stopped restricting/binge eating, I’m less socially anxious and my self-esteem is being recharged. I’m actually making plans for the future too.

Do you think it should be available on the NHS?

YES!!! I waited months and months to get around six sessions of CBT that did naff all. In counselling I was dwelling on my problems the whole time with not a lot of direction so the Thrive Programme was a very structured, quick way to feel more powerful and happier.

Are there any suggestions you can think of, to help Michelle improve her lessons?

No.

I cannot believe how much the Thrive Programme has helped me to overcome depression, binge eating, low self-confidence, low self esteem and social anxiety. I was sceptical of the programme at first because 8 weeks is not a long time and I’d had my symptoms for years. No amount of talking therapy, medication or self-help books had alleviated them. I’d read other reviews of people saying that the programme had been life-changing, but I still thought that my problems were too deep-rooted and part of who I was as a person. Now I can honestly say that I don’t feel weighed down by depression. I have stopped binge eating, I’m less socially anxious and my self-esteem is being recharged. I’m actually making plans for the future too.

I liked that so much ground was covered in the Thrive Programme. The chapters in the Thrive book were all relevant and the examples and studies were interesting to read. My Thrive Consultant ensured that I was staying on track and helped me consolidate the content of the book. I've learnt that it doesn't matter what happens to me, what matters is how I respond. Small steps like processing my positives, challenging negative thoughts and pushing me out of my comfort zone in social situations has meant that now I have a much more 'internal' sense of power and control. I haven't felt this good since my mental health problems started four years ago. Thank you for changing my life!

What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

That the book is easy to understand, no difficult language and it is written with humor. The sessions are also done with humor, respect and positivity.

Would you change anything?

Nothing that I can think of except that it would be really great if the book was translated into many other languages so that more people can help themselves even though not knowing English and also it would be great to have more consultants who speaks other languages. For me English wasn't a problem, but I am thinking about others who might not feel the same.

How has it improved your life?

So much! Before thrive I was feeling powerless to overcome my problems but now I don't, even though I still have some things to keep working on.

Do you think it should be available on the NHS?

Definitely! And many other sites even abroad.

Are there any suggestions you can think of, to help Michelle improve her lessons?

I can't think of something. She was really sweet and kind.

Going through the thrive programme was the best choice I have ever made because it has taught me so much about myself and I know feel that I have the skills and knowledge to deal with my life. I feel that I still have to work hard on keeping up this new attitude and life style but I am confident that it will feel natural in a few weeks and I feel more powerful to deal with things now. Thanks.

I really would like to thank Michelle for guiding me through Thrive program as it really helped me to improve the quality of my life. I decided to try Thrive as I had been suffering from extreme mood swings , which I thought I had no control over. After completing the course I feel that I finally re-gained the control over my moods and, thus my life. I highly recommend Thrive to people who feel that the quality of their life is suffering.

"Few months ago, I have been recommended the Thrive program, at a time of my life when I was looking for answers. The Thrive program provides a methodical presentation with very clear illustrations, to grasp the importance of beliefs, thinking styles and the self-esteem. Dedicated and eager to share her experience, Michelle was a great element to the success of my journey of revelations. The result is amazing! With these new tools, the configuration of my mindset has been transformed for the better. I know how to identify the positive of any challenges. A clear sense of control and focus is now in place, allowing me to reach the "unthinkable" opportunities. My self-esteem is boosted and my stress level is under control! In conclusion, I highly recommend the Thrive program and Michelle's expertise to anyone, who wishes to reveal their greater skills and potentials.

Thank you much Michelle for this awesome journey!'' : )

Before I started the thrive , I was someone who wanted everything to be perfect in life and always seeked the approval of other people especially family. I also lack in self esteem/confidence which meant I compared myself to other and used to comfort eat to make my self better. Now after doing the thrive programme My life has now totally changed I have built on my self esteem and my confidence is now through the roof. I am going to try new things in life and I have got myself a new job which I would not of had the confidence to do. I have taken control over my comfort eating and have lost nearly 2 stone in weight and am keeping the wait of which is a huge step for me. I couldn’t put the book down throw the whole thrive programme and I found it easy to read as being dyslexic this is not always easy for me . I also like that the stories of other thrive clients throughout the book. Lastly, Michelle was amazing during each session as she made the teaching visual and she is very support as she has been through the thrive programme herself .

What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

I liked how empowering it was – with Michelle’s guidance I have managed to do this by myself!

Would you change anything?

No, I wasn’t sure how skype would work for me but it was great and meant I could work around my family time. The homework was worthwhile and I liked having the sessions weekly as something to aim towards – it was done in nice bite sized portions.

How has it improved your life?

I am a more confident, relaxed and happier person. I have the tools handy to cope with any situation and that is a wonderful feeling! Most importantly, I know now I don’t have a fear of sick – I have created it and I can stop it over time.

Do you think it should be available on the NHS?

Yes – it has been more effective than the CBT and counselling that I have been offered on the NHS.

Are there any suggestions you can think of, to help Michelle improve her lessons?

No – I wouldn’t have changed anything about them.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started Thrive, I began the course fairly cynical but desperate to put a stop to my emetophobia. After two weeks I could begin to see changes in myself, and at the end of the course I feel like a happier and more confident version of myself. Not only do I now know that I do not have a fear of vomiting, but I am more in control of my life than I have been before. It has been really hard work, and I’ve had to challenge beliefs that I’ve held for a very long time, but it’s been worth every minute of it. Michelle has made the whole process easy, and it’s helped so much having her guidance and support through each step. I can’t recommend it enough!

What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

Did going through Thrive with a consultant make a difference?

The Thrive Programme, and in particular, the help and guidance offered by Michelle has been a truly wonderful experience. I have been equipped with the tools to help myself towards a better quality of life and mental health. Thrive for me is not in itself a problem solver-rather it shows you, in a simple and easy to understand way, the methods with which you can help yourself to cope with life’s adversities and to fully enjoy the good times! I recognise that I still have a long way to go but, the most important thing for me is that Thrive and Michelle have given me the self-confidence to accept that I can, and shall thrive, because I am worth it!

For the most part about 6-7, particularly one.
Later sessions I would say were on a 9-10 as I was starting to feel better.

What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

That it explains to you in a clear way and with many examples, what the underlying factors are which influence how you feel about things, and through exercises empower you to take control of how you think and feel.

How has it improved your life?

I feel so much better on a daily basis and if I start to worry, I have the tools to catch this and make a change. I am much more relaxed and productive as I no longer spend a lot of energy “putting out fires” and trying to motivate myself.

What brought you to Thrive?

I came via my GP for severe anxiety and low mood. My GP thought it would be the best approach for me. I was also recently diagnosed with Asperger’s.

Did going through Thrive with a consultant make a difference?

For me having a range of examples (not all in the book) for different concepts has been very helpful in gaining a deeper understanding. Mostly I want to say a thank you to Michelle for helping me challenge my thinking styles and perspective on things!

I think there are so many reasons why this is applicable to the NHS. People’s foundations can have a big impact on their recovery and their motivation for and adherence to different interventions, both in physical and mental settings.

What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

I like the fact it is so down to earth. The language used is simple to understand. The book is well written and I like the fact it is amusing and light hearted to read. I also really like the fact that the exercises are so straight forward. But at the same time I like that it is challenging and I like that Michelle pushed me to work harder which resulted in a better result.

How has it improved your life?

It has greatly improved my life – mostly at work. It has given me confidence to believe that I am good at my job and also the confidence to believe I can get a job elsewhere. It has helped me make a big decision to take the risk to move on from my workplace and feeling confident about doing so.

It has improved my relationships with everyone around me. I feel happier, more confident and less stressed than before. I feel more confident in my ability to deal with whatever comes up in life. I spend less time worrying about doing things and just get on and do them. I feel less tired than before because I can cope better with my busy lifestyle. Even hangovers seem less bad than before.

Michelle and the Thrive programme also helped me get over problems I never even knew I had. The programme really helps you understand yourself. That can be scary and quite upsetting at first but after a very short amount of time you realise that understanding what your issues are is the first step to resolving them. As well as improving the issues I originally went to Michelle with, Thrive has improved my life in other ways. I have better relationships with everyone around me, I am happier and even have more energy. Little things like traffic noise or crowded places that used to bother me no longer bother me. I have stopped comparing myself negatively to others. That’s the “bi-product” of going through the programme- it’s not just about improving one area of your life- it will help you improve all areas of your life. I truly believe that EVERYONE could benefit from going through the programme.

What brought you to Thrive?

I came to Michelle with two issues. I was having difficulties at work due to my social anxiety, lack of confidence and assertiveness; and I was suffering from vaginismus – a sexual problem – phobia of penetration. With Michelle’s help going through the Thrive programme I completely smashed my issues at work- leaving me feeling more confident, and better able to deal with stress and challenging situations than ever before. And I feel I am well on the way to smashing the vaginismus too; I have got further than ever before in the 12 years since diagnosis and I feel for the first time in my life that it is something I will get over. I now know what I need to do and will get there.

Did going through Thrive with a consultant make a difference?

When I first discovered Thrive, I wondered if I should just read the book on my own and save myself the money. I am an intelligent person and I thought I would manage fine on my own. I’ve never been in any sort of therapy (although Thrive isn’t therapy!) and wasn’t sure what to expect. But I am SO glad that I went through the programme with Michelle; I got so much more out of it. She explained things to me in different ways to further improve my understanding of the concepts; she challenged me to go further than I would have on my own; gave me additional exercises and handouts that aren’t in the book; and was supportive and reassuring at points I struggled at. It was great having someone there to just talk through my thought processes with. Michelle charges a flat rate paid upfront and that covers however many sessions you need- usually between 6 – 8 and I never felt at all pressured by Michelle to get through it more quickly.  Sessions last 90 minutes which means you have lots of time to talk about everything you want to talk about. Michelle is down to earth and non-judgemental. She’s also open about her own life experiences which I liked.

Going through the Thrive programme with Michelle changed my life and I believe it can change anyone’s. It is money very well spent!

Thanks again Michelle.

What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

Its given me tools for life. Michelle’s directness and humour. Rob Kelly’s humour in the book.

What brought you to Thrive?

I initially got in touch with Michelle/Thrive to seek help with social anxiety, but it has in fact helped with all aspects of my life. I was diagnosed with PTSD and suffered with Social anxiety disorder.

How has it improved your life?

I’m much more confident generally. By completing the programme with Michelle and simply learning to complete a few small written exercises every day, I have and will continue to smash my social anxiety to smithereens. Thanks to Michelle and the Thrive Programme, I am feeling really confident in my ability to enjoy life, by feeling confident in the knowledge, that if I do start to feel any of my symptoms, then I can easily deal with them quickly and effectively and get on with my day. That’s what’s so brilliant about this programme-it really is simple to learn and so effective. And you more you do it, the easier and simpler it becomes. Once you’ve learnt this easy programme, its something that’s yours for life and that in itself is empowering.

I now have the skills to know why and when I’m wearing my shit-tinted glasses and how to get them off!  And get them off quickly! Thank xxxx for that! For the first time in a long time, I can look ahead without fear. My confidence in life generally, is massively improved. I know I have the skills to deal with anything now. And that is an amazing feeling.

Did going through Thrive with a consultant make a difference?

Michelle Winter has the natural ability to make you feel at ease, her enthusiasm and belief in this programme is completely genuine and really enthuses the sessions. Michelle encourages you to deal with symptoms/anxieties head on and with the exercises given, you gain the tools to deal with your symptoms and anxieties literally, learn to swipe them out of your way. There ain’t no better feeling. With her encouragement, skills and expertise-and by simply completing a few small exercises a day-you will succeed. Then you have the tools for life.

What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

Honestly all of it! The book was great for guidance and Michelle was good at talking me through and explaining in real terms what some of the language meant.

How has it improved your life?

I’m honestly looking forward to going abroad now. I came here to get over my fear of flying and walked out with confidence and improved self esteem in all aspects of my life.

What brought you to Thrive?

I came to Thrive to get over my fear of flying.

Did going through Thrive with a consultant make a difference?

With this approach I saw a difference in myself quickly. This has been one of the most useful experiences of my life. My resilience and my ability to believe in myself has changed. I came to get over a flying phobia and I have also applied for my drivers provisional and even built Ikea furniture! I’d never have done these things before! Life is would good.

THRIVING 9 MONTHS ON!!!

Hi Michelle,

I just wanted to say thank you for all the help you gave me.

I had tried other therapies in the past that had mixed results, so on that dark winter evening when I first met with you I was a little bit ambivalent about the Thrive programme.

I had expected to turn up and have to tell you my life story and to my surprise and delight you did not need to know this.

What then happened over the next six weeks was really enlightening and what has happened over last nine months has been even more exciting.

So Michelle thank you.

So what have I achieved over the last nine months since I saw you.

I have went on holiday and enjoyed the flight there and back.

I was even stuck on the runway for an hour going to my destination, but I just took it in my stride.

I then enjoyed two weeks of sunshine with no catastrophic thinking and worrying about the flight home. We even had some turbulence on the way home and although this can be a little uncomfortable, that’s all I experienced.

I would now not consider myself scared of flying!

I have also applied for and got a new job! (another of my phobias was job interviews).

But using the skills the Thrive programme taught me I was calm and composed. I even had to go back for a second interview and my train was cancelled, which meant I was 45 minutes late for the interview.

I would normally have had a complete meltdown at this.

But I was calm and made my new employers aware of the situation…and well I got the job anyway so it had no impact on my interview.

My next goal is learning to drive I have my provisional at the ready.

You have enabled me through the Thrive programme to open my eyes to lots of wonderful things that my limiting beliefs, my black and white thinking and my controlling behaviours had previously prevented me from doing.

I feel free and I know I can do anything I want, if I put the time and effort in.

So Thanks again Michelle for all your help, much appreciated! J

What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

I am still amazed at how much it has changed the way I think and perceive things in my life-this is what I like best about this programme, it changes you for the better.

How has it improved your life?

I feel a lot more empowered and I don’t see things as rigidly as I did before. I feel a lot more relaxed, less anxious and able to focus better.

Would you recommend Michelle and the Thrive Programme to friends and family?

I already have! I have recommended Michelle to friends already!

Did going through Thrive with a consultant make a difference?

I would just like to say a huge thank you to Michelle for helping me thrive to become a more positive person. I have found the Thrive book extremely reader-friendly and with Michelle’s guidance and support, I feel as though I have become a different person, for the better!  Michelle was warm, easy to talk to, funny and made the whole process easy to understand and get to grips with. I am so impressed with the Thrive Programme that I honestly believe that anyone can benefit from it, regardless of whether they have issues or not. What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

The programme was down to earth and very straight forward and it made sense. It teaches you useful techniques and skills for a better quality of life. I loved the easy to understand, engaging book.

How has it improved your life?

By teaching me new skills it enabled me to turn negative thoughts into positive. And as a result I now no longer need to take antidepressant medication, thrive is enough for me! I didn’t realise how many limiting beliefs I was carrying round stopping me having the life I wanted. Thrive has changed my life for the better.

What brought you to Thrive?

I came to Thrive with long standing depression and anxiety. After searching for several solutions with the NHS nothing seemed to work. I therefore had nothing to lose. I do not regret my decision to give it a try, it’s the only thing that has really worked.

Did going through Thrive with a consultant make a difference?

Yes! There is so much more to be gained going through thrive with a consultant. Michelle challenged me in several different ways to the book. And wasn’t afraid to kick my arse when I hadn’t put enough effort in! This kept me on track and meant I put the right amount of effort in, because just initially having someone who you are going to see for weekly sessions means that you can’t put off getting stuck-in! I now know how to get myself thriving, and that’s so empowering! I’d highly recommend Michelle she’s amazing at what she does!

What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?
The fun, interactive, simple concepts-easy to grasp, very applicable and relevant to my life.

How has it improved your life?
It has made me feel empowered and excited to make changes.
It has given me inner-confidence-a feeling of invincibility.
It has convinced me that I can finally change the things I thought I couldn’t.

What did you learn in Thrive?

  • Heading in the right direction-moving forward, small changes (no matter how long it takes).
  • PACE-persistent and continuous effort.
  • Process my positives everyday-achievements. What I’ve learned about myself.
  • Check my thinking throughout the day. Is this thought helpful? If not, change it or bin it!
  • Start each day with a goal: “This is how my day is going to be. I am going to make it happen.”
  • Track my progress.
  • Build self-esteem.
  • Internal SPACE.
  • Reduce social anxiety - is it really so important what other people think of me?
  • Stop trying to micro-manage/control everything. I have the ability to cope with whatever arises.
  • Build resilience.
  • Remember my phobia is just an unhelpful thinking error. It is the fear of the fear itself, MICE CAN’T HARM ME! I have nothing to fear.
  • I can manage my eating without taking it to extreme measures-no need to starve or binge.
  • When in danger of temptation, practice the DREAM technique.
  • Change perspective. Stand back and see the bigger picture.

What did you learn in the sessions with your Thrive Consultant?
Thrive is a hands-on approach that has given me the confidence and skills to change my life. I really believe it is possible to lose weight now and I am looking forward to proving I can do it. The course was extremely well taught-empowering, inspiring and great fun!

Thank you Thrive! Thank you Michelle!

Relaxed sessions, easy to read workbook. Interesting with lots of references to science/studies, etc. Entertaining, sense of humour, good pace, turned some of my thinking on its head, provided me with hope and a feeling of support.

How has it improved your life?

My life has improved immeasurably. I feel more confident, calm, optimistic and joyful. I have come off all anti-depressant meds after 15 years, with the support of this programme and my GP. I now feel I have the tools to deal with anything life throws at me. I am Thriving!

What brought you to Thrive?

I came via my GP for new approaches to my Depression, anxiety/stress and eating disorder. I wish my GP had referred me for this years ago.

Did going through Thrive with a consultant make a difference?

Absolutely! I now feel so much more in control of my life and not worried about the things I can’t control! The sessions with Michelle are very relaxed and informal. She has an excellent sense of humour and I felt in safe hands learning to Thrive. I would recommend going through Thrive with Michelle she will really challenge you and put things in a way that you can decipher if you are struggling with something.

Thank you so much Michelle.

I’d like to say a huge thank you to Michelle. She has worked with me to help me to Thrive.  She is professional and knowledgeable, warm and friendly. I felt at ease during the sessions. Some were more difficult than others but I enjoyed them all.

What did you like best about The Thrive Programme?

Feeling like I was gaining skills and techniques that would last for then rest of my life-not just benefitting me in the immediate future.

How has it improved your life?

My inner voice has changed dramatically. Resulting in my self-esteem growing and me feeling much more powerful.

What brought you to Thrive?

It had worked for my sister really well. I came for depression and anxiety.

Was Thrive and working with Michelle worth it?

Thrive has helped me so much in all aspects of my life. I have tried other forms of help in the past but none of these have given me long-term skills and techniques that I can use.  Thrive has done this and more. I have built my self-esteem and have smashed almost all of my limiting beliefs. Even after the six weeks I can already see how much of an impact Thrive has had on my life. I am pushing myself in situations I would previously have struggled with and I am succeeding. I am very grateful to Thrive and Michelle. I can’t thank you enough.

I would like to thank Michelle and say with her help I am now a different person. I have changed my life. I got my divorce. I feel much more in control of my Bipolar and it doesn’t dominate my life anymore. I think this service should be paid for on the NHS, this is a very valuable service.

I am thriving and so happy. Thank you.
